VGZ contributes to people’s happiness with content marketing
Happy people, are healthy people!
In cooperation with Erasmus University Rotterdam, VGZ works on the scientific approach of happiness. What makes a happier person: a higher salary, or the freedom to cycle to work? By creating a community based on interesting blogs that feature insights into happiness, there will always be volunteers for a study about happiness.
Every ten days, an interesting blog about happiness is published. These blogs head surprising titles like “20 minutes of exercise, 12 hours of happiness,” and “What not to do after a busy workday.” By promoting these blogs with sponsored posts on Facebook, you will not only reach your regular Facebook fan page fans, but an entirely new audience on top. Each blog will lead to additional Facebook fans.
How does content marketing work?
Content marketing is all about sharing valuable and relevant content. It is a means to reach and activate a target audience. By providing attractive content, you will get attention in return. Attention facilitates interaction with your audience, which can be used commercially to generate leads, or to build brand awareness, for example. The big advantage of content marketing is its ability to set you apart from advertising campaigns. People pay less attention to ads than they do to editorial content.
Pushing the limits of your content on social media
It’s a shame of your invested effort if your authoritative content does not get past a small group of digital onlookers who happen to read it by chance. Increasing your Facebook reach by means of sponsored posts, would be a smart tactic. Facebook allows great precision when it comes to defining your target audience. Once people discover your blogs, they will be eager to become a fan or follower of your blog. In addition to purchased distribution, there are others who share a blog out of personal appreciation.
Everybody wants happiness
Not every topic is suitable for content marketing. It is less useful if your message is supposed to generate direct leads. Instead, content marketing is a likable means to attract large audiences. Needless to say, these people are potential leads, but they visit your website for its content – not for a quick buy. In this respect, “happiness” is an ideal subject. Everybody wants happiness and can always use additional advice on the subject. As a result, your content will be easy to market.
Content marketing requires a long-term vision
Writing a blog post does not readily yield a large fan base. It is important to keep posting blogs for an extensive period of time. For the happiness blog of VGZ, no less than 36 blogs have been written. Each blog is based on a scientifically proven aspect of happiness. Think of topics like “Get more from stress,” and “So the little things count after all.” By presenting your audience a consistent style and message, you can build a returning and growing following.
