ShopBoy conquers the Netherlands, campaign goes viral
ShopBoy video gets more than 100,000 views!
For shopping mall “Hoog Catharijne” in Utrecht, the Netherlands, we developed the surprising ShopBoy concept. A new service, which turns shopping into an amazing experience! Like shopping carts, the ShopBoys are lined up in a row and can be picked up by women as they enter the mall. The ShopBoy carries your bags, gets your size, and gives you personal advice.

The media coverage of the ShopBoys was beyond our wildest dreams. On Facebook alone, the ShopBoy video generated more than 70,000 views. Nu.nl, AD, Grazia, Glamour and Telegraaf Vrouw each wrote an article about it. RTL Boulevard even showed up with a camera crew and shot their own video. Doesn’t every woman dream of a handsome man by her side who, intrinsically motivated, assists with shopping? Needless to say, he carries your purchases, opens the door for you, and gives you subtle and personal compliments when choosing your new summer dress. It was great fun to witness the surprised and somewhat envious responses of the shopping crowds. We were certainly not the only ones to film the ShopBoys. In order to make spectators feel like they’re joining us in the experience at Hoog Catharijne, we took a casual approach at shooting the videos.
Covered by foreign media
As if national media coverage didn’t suffice, the news even went abroad. Belgium and French news websites also covered the innovation. When we developed the concept, we were obviously aware of its communicative power, but had not expected it to go this viral.
