“Safety first” is an ordinary slogan. But how to achieve on-site safety at a large refinery where innumerable installers and contractors operate at the same time? To this end, CASOS was founded: a partnership that convenes all involved parties and initiates open cooperation on widely supported safety regulations. We produced a short and concise animated explanation of the highly successful CASOS approach.
The purpose of the animation is to clearly explain the CASOS approach to a vast audience. To achieve this, we decided a combination of pictures and drawings would work best. The pictures ensure audiences recognize their work environment. You see an actual refinery, for example. The drawings portray the explanation and relevant changes in a swift and simple manner. The combination gives the video credibility, while making it easy to digest.
The animation can be viewed on YouTube via this link. On a frequent basis, the video is shown during presentations for new installers and contractors who would like to participate in CASOS, as well as during lectures at universities and universities of applied sciences.
Needless to say, a Walt Disney animation is the work of hundreds of animators. Every single frame is drawn, one at a time. This causes a rapid increase of work hours and makes for an approach that easily exceeds the budgets of most marketers. By combining moving pictures with simple line drawings, you get an affordable animation. An animation always remains an investment. Yet, it is also a very effective way of communicating a message in the visual culture we live in today.
Cofely GDF SUEZ is the initiator of the CASOS partnership. In this capacity, the organization asked us to translate the CASOS story into a clear-cut, easy-to-understand animation.
